This being the official month for fooling your friends, I thought, why not dedicate a post to it! Well, I know its just the 1st of April thats regarded as Fool’s Day, but, where I come from, we have this silly kinda notion which says that whatever happens on the begining of a new period, would continue till the end.

For instance, if you wake up late on the 1st of Januray, you’re gonna wake up late the whole year around. Or maybe, if you spent a lot on the first day of the week, keep a check on your wallet ‘coz you’re gonna spend a lot the entire week. Silly… stupid even… I know, but we tease each other on this thought none-the-less. If nothing else, it brings around some smiles and fun.

So, this post is dedicated to the funniest month of the year – The Fool’s month! That’s April. Gosh… its April already, wasn’t new year just a week ago??!!………….. anyways,

Here’s another hot wrist mobile phone – Sidewinder, designed by Susan Cho, whose idea was to create a multi-touch cell phone that a person could wear on his/her wrist.

Do you think, this might be the next stage in technological development? Unfortunately, the multi-touch technology has not reach the phase in which it could be used in a device with such a small interface. Nevertheless, Sidewinder watch phone is still worth mentioning .

The designer says that the watch phone has several menus and boasts a number of tools such as contacts, keypad, GPS, maps and other features that can be found today on smartphones. In addition, the Sidewinder incorporates multi-touch technology.

So go and watch at least instead of buying it.

Saregama films brings together the hit team of MR & MRS IYER – Director Aparna Sen and actor Rahul Bose in the upcoming film THE JAPANESE WIFE with star-cast Raima Sen, Chigusa Takaku and Moushumi Chatterjee. The film is set to release on April 09, 2010.

This time, too, Aparna Sen makes an unusual film with an unusual message: How far will you go for love?

Snehamoy, a schoolteacher in the Sunderbans, and Miyage, a young girl in Japan, meet through letters, fall in love over letters, and even get married through letters! They have been married for 15 years… but have never met.

In this very tender, lyrically-told, stunningly-photographed film, Snehamoy and Miyage go the distance for their love, from the happy to the funny to the sad, sometimes even the bizarre… Only a director with Aparna Sen’s skill could have woven a love Poem like this on screen.

Mr. Apurv Nagpal, MD of Saregama, says, “We admire Aparna’s work and ability to interpret love. This is not just a film but a lyrical love poem, very different to anything out there in today’s age of instant gratification.”

The film features a stellar cast: Miyage is played – for the first time in Indian films – by a Japanese actress, Chigusa Takaku. And the talent of Rahul Bose as Snehamoy, is stretched to its limit as he goes from a college student to an elderly man. And, of course, there is Raima Sen and Moushumi Chatterjee, who bursts back onto the screen after two decades.

Wow!! Thats quite an imaginative story.. I am definitely gonna watch this one..

Ever since the promos of his latest film KITES have hit the market; Hrithik Roshan is becoming hot property off shores. Buzz, is that many Hollywood filmmakers are impressed with Hrthik’s chemistry with co-star Barbara Mori.

Reports further suggest that many Hollywood filmmakers are keen to work with Hrithik and have already started sending feelers to the actor. Since, the actor is busy with the shooting of his films at the moment, such requests are being pushed to a period when he has adequate time to mull over them and think of a possible Hollywood venture.

KITES, is making the right noise for Hrithik Roshan and hopefully this film will help him conquer Hollywood in the same way in which he has conquered the domestic box-office.

Come Clean is a book about a young teenage girl, it describes her mind-set and thoughts as she deals with her problems. I picked this book up from the British Library, Pune. I’m a regular member there and though I didn’t think so initially, every time I visit it, I end up bringing back at least 3 really nice fiction books. This one I own now, because it was withdrawn for sale. I bought 2 other hopefully great books too along with this one and you’ll find them reviewed by me here in the months to come..

Justine Ziegler has just been through the untimely death of her brother, Joshua, after a prolonged drug problem. The tragedy has left her feeling lost since Joshua was her best friend, her confidant, her soul mate. She misses him so much that she practically denies the very fact that he’s gone. She sleeps in his bed with his pillow which smells of him, spends most of her time in his room, even hangs out with their common friends.. only their common friends.

Also, of lately, she’s been acting wierd with her parents. Snapping back at them, shutting herself up in Joshua’s room, not socializing etc. And then one day, she stays out all night with her best friends Cindy and Larry, and she gets really drunk. That was it! The maximum her parents could take, and by far the stupidest thing she could have done.

Wednesday night, as I sat back in my chair in the balcony, taking a look around and below, many thoughts crossed my exhausted mind. It had been a really long day, and every inch of my body ached from the tiredness of arranging to shift our apartment. Though I and 3 of my flat-mates had left office at 1 in the afternoon, practically an office half-day, right then, after all the work and preparations that went into packing all our stuff, meeting our new landlord, arranging for the furniture to be moved, this day felt even more tiresome than any other regular day at office.

We had been thinking about moving to a bigger flat since about a month or so. Two of our batch-mates had been transfered to Pune and they were going to live with us, so we needed more space. Luckily we found this amazing new apartment in the same campus. The place had huge rooms, was very well constructed and had a wonderful balcony. And we got it at a very reasonable price, so we made up our minds to migrate.

Its been quite some time since I chose an artist of the month for my blog. This morning I just felt like doing it. So heres presenting, one of my favorite singers, who I think has one of the most beautiful, fun voices and whose songs I just loooove listening to….. Nelly Furtado.

Nelly Kim Furtado is a Canadian singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. She was born on December 2, 1978, in the Canadian city of Victoria, British Columbia to Portuguese parents, Maria Manuela and António José Furtado. Furtado has a strong connection with Portuguese culture and also holds Portuguese citizenship. At age four she began performing and singing in Portuguese. She was named after Soviet gymnast Nellie Kim. Raised in a Roman Catholic home, Furtado first sang at the age of four when she performed a duet with her mother at a church on Portugal Day. Although remaining unclear about her religious beliefs, she still affirms a belief in God, the Ten Commandments, and in avoiding the Seven Sins.
