My Life so Far
I was born and brought up in Agra, and spent the first 23… yes 23 years of my life in the same place. I completed my high school from St. Paul’s Church College, Agra and I proudly say that whatever I am today(not a really big somebody, but a nobody neither) I owe to this institution. And that’s because here I learnt the very first and most important lessons of my life… and there are some teachers, my principal and of course, some of my childhood friends(who’ve still stuck around and refuse to let go……. much to my happiness) whom I’ll never forget…
I had commerce as my stream of study during my Intermediate, or twelfth grade as we call it… and I did that from a different school, which was a Jesus and Mary Convent by the name of St. Patrick’s Junior College, Agra. Though I spent only two years of my learning stages there… I found a few really close and lifelong friends…
Quite predictably, I went on to become a commerce graduate… and since I had lots of time to spare during college, it was then that I had my first experience of a job. I worked as a kindergarten or playschool teacher for nearly 8 months, and I had a classroom full of 2 year olds who were really cute but could get on to my nerves quite easily for the initial few days… and thats how I got my first hands on experience of developing something very useful called…… Patience!! College life gave me a few of my best friends till date… and it also taught me some of life’s toughest lessons, all of which if I begin to share, any space on earth would be less… though I’ll be sharing some of them on my blog if possible……. I just hope you’ll find them as amusing as I did!!
And finally we come to the one tiny question that might have popped up in your mind by now… if I was a commerce graduate, how come I ended up becoming a software engineer?????? I’ll be rather glad to answer that one…
It was during my high school days when I had developed this knack for figuring out how things like the television or remote control work… what is it that tells them what they have to do when we press a particular button… and when I joined college and had time to spare… I joined a long-distance course for the degree of Bachelor of Computer Applications from one of India’s largest and most widely recognised universities called, The Indira Gandhi National Open University or IGNOU. So basically I completed 2 degrees at the same time… am I cool or what?? hehe….. sorry for being vain for a little moment there. Thereafter, during the 3 years of my course in computers, I realised I liked this field more than I had expected, and with constant pushing by my elder brother, I finally landed up doing my Masters in Computer Applications!! So the credit for my educational ‘forte’(if I may call it) goes to that little voice in my head and of course, my elder and only sibling…
I’m sure by now you’ve figured out that I got through campus selections for some company and now have been sent to Pune… and I’m convinced that I’ve bored you beyond measure to read any further about this so I’ll stop here.
